Interventionism... Leave Ukraine Alone! by ron paul

RT - Russia Today).

In Ukraine, EU and US Interventionists Nearing the Civil War They Caused

EU Writes Ukraine's Eulogy (тоже материал, подготовленный путинским Министерством Правды, со ссылкой на RT).

Michael Rubin Hopes That The Violence In Ukraine Spreads!

Dear Dr. Paul,

I've been your supporter since I came to the United States from Ukraine, because I admire the principles the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are built upon, and I admire your effort to protect those principles. I was happy to be involved in your recent Presidential campaign, however small the work I've done might be.

The more it hurts to see the organization bearing your name, The Ron Paul Institute, repeating the outrageous lies of the Russian propaganda.

I deeply respect your non-intervention policy and I couldn't agree more that neither the US, nor the EU, nor Russia should tell Ukraine what to do. But the fact is, Russia is trying to tell us what to do, and the Ron Paul Institute is helping it, by spreading their crooked depiction on the conflict.

I've read your article, 'Leave Ukraine Alone!' and though I agree with the message in the title, I could not agree with several very important points in the article:

First of all, Ukraine is not divided as deeply as it may seem from overseas. I was born and grew up in the central and eastern Ukraine, my native language is Russian, but I never thought of myself as of Russian. I'm a Russian-speaking Ukrainian. As far as I'm concerned, most of my friends and neighbors felt the same way. After 20 years of independence there is no strong movement to secession, except for some parts of Crimea. Most of the eastern local governments already pledged their allegiance to the Ukrainian Parliament.

Another important point is that the demand of the trade alliance with the EU was not the main point of the protesters. The protests triggered by the sudden breakup with the EU were already dying out by November 30, when the riot police clashed into the group of people who were simply staying in the middle of the Independence Square, executing their Constitutional right for peaceful protest. 79 people were injured, among them 4 journalists and zero policemen.

Next morning, hundreds of thousands of people were on the square and nearby streets, demanding that the officials who issued the order to attack people, as well as the policemen who used excessive force to be found and charges to be pressed.

Ukrainians protested peacefully for 6 more weeks, but not a single person was held responsible for assault. Instead, the government pushed a bunch of laws through the Parliament, breaking all the due procedures and several articles of the Constitution. Those laws criminalized most of the forms of protests and clearly violated our Constitutional rights. The police started to attack people and arrest them. That was the end of the peaceful protest, and the demand for the President to resign was added at this point.
