The political situation of the 1930s and 40s was used to cunning effect by the egalitarian left to stamp out all opposition. Any expression of racial home truths was automatically lambasted as "fascist," "Nazi," and therefore ultra-rightist. In fact, all of this was a fabrication. The leading "racial scientists" from the 1890s until the 1930s were in agreement across the ideological and political spectrum. In fact, most of the leading racial scientists were Progressives, left-liberals, and New Dealers. In that period, only Communists and other Marxists were egalitarians, for ideological reasons. But the Commies were able to use their extensive ideological and propaganda machine during that era to somehow link Nazi persecution of Jews to racism, and with doctrines of racial superiority and inferiority. In that way, the Commies were able to bully or convert all manner of liberals and leftists, including those ex-Trotskyites and liberals who would much later become neoconservatives. This left the conservatives, who were the least amenable to Marxist influence, but who in turn were bullied into submission by being smeared savagely as "Hitlerite" for any expression of racialist views.
In point of fact, however, it should be clear that Hitler and the Nazis did not persecute Jews because they believed Jews to be inferior in intelligence. And as for blacks, there were too few blacks residing in Europe for the Nazis to bother about, much less persecute.

Насчет либерализма и "путаных текстов основоположника" - тоже не уверен, что владею вопросом. Те тексты, которые лично для меня сыграли важнейшую роль в формировании моего мировоззрения, путаными мне кажутся. Ну, а что обсуждения на форумах обычно вырождаются в "богословские беседы" - это, вероятно, общее свойство заядлого форумного общения, человеческой страсти переубедить оппонента. Более того - очень может быть, что этот стиль кажется нам "богословским" всего лишь потому, что впервые проявился именно в области богословия, то есть когда других "площадок" для обсуждения мировоззренческих вопросов просто не существовало...

Под "богословским" я подразумеваю такой стиль общения, когда для припечатывания оппонента используется цитата кого-нибудь классика, а не собственный аргумент или традиционный личный выпад. Складывается ощущение, что живая мысль оттуда ушла.

Скорее всего, удовлетворительно разрешить эту проблему невозможно вообще, она всегда останется предметом споров. Главное - не забыть о пограничности, относительной маргинальности вопроса.
Скажем, все согласны с тем, что к живым людям надо оноситься иначе, чем к неживым объектам природы. Но где проходит граница между еще-живым и уже-трупом, а также еще-зародышем и уже-ребенком? Как видно из бесконечных дискуссий об эвтаназию и аборты - любое расщепление волоса на этих фронтах ведет всего лишь к дальнейшему совершенствованию техники последующего расщепления. Плохо лишь, когда непримиримость в вопросах аборта и эвтаназии затемняет факт единства по базовому вопросу различия между человеком и не-человеком.
То же и с ребенком. Понятно, что кластер "взрослых" и кластер "детей" существуют, что отношение к взрослым и детям может быть разное, но вот где проходит граница, как расщепить пограничье - в этом единства нет. А там, где единство принципиально недостижимо, градус спора особенно быстро доходит до точки кипения...
Вот и получается, что весь пар уходит на споры по проблемам пограничных ситуций, хотя проблемы "базовых кластеров" кажутся мне намного более важными.
